Oh how time flies. I can’t believe that the Chicago Marathon is so soon. We just passed the one month mark. I’m starting to get very excited but I’m also really nervous.
Some of my favorite things from marathon training:
Lazy days in compression socks; seriously ProCompression is the best! I run in these and recover in them. I do believe that these help me recover and keep my shin splints at bay.
Frozen yogurt, need I say more? I mean come on.
Eating and drinking all day after a long run, this is probably the best part. Right now my faves post-run eats are Easy Mac and caesar salad. I rarely if ever crave salty foods but after a long run it is all I want. I also drink nuun like crazy. The hunger seems to last into the next day too. I know I don’t have free reign to consume whatever I want but I definitely indulge a little.
Guilt-free naps, no pictures of these thank goodness! I have a hard time justifying a nap on the weekends because all I can think of are the things I should be doing.
A new PDR almost every weekend! 2o miles next weekend! That will be my longest run before the race.
Excuses to buy new gear, obviously this is mental gear but I love this bracelet and I wear it every day!
